I chose to get involved with HISA due to the large amount of complaining Myself and my fellow classmates have made in our 3 years as students. So, I thought I might as well put all that to practice and actually try to make a difference to the student experience.
The one thing I would love to achieve in my year as an officer is to have more Class Reps. As the more Class Reps we have, the bigger the student voice gets and the bigger that voice gets the more improvement that can be made.
An Icon of mine that I look up to regular would have to be that of the Buddhist monk and author Thic Nhat Hanh as his peaceful outlook on life and how he has made his way from a war torn Vietnam in his younger years to promoting peace and wellbeing in his later life on a global scale continues to inspire me.
Whilst away from the world of student Politics I like to either Listen, compose and play music as well as running and climbing on the regular.
My proudest moment as a student has to be winning the election in February which brings me to where I am now. This also happens to be my best memory as a student as receiving that phone call about my election result gave me a massive boost of positivity.
My favourite Thing about living in Scotland definitely has to be the countryside with the hills, Munro’s and Mountains. The amount of beauty that can be seen from one of these Peaks is the beyond phenomenal and is the best reward for a long climb.
For yourselves as students I will aim to make sure that your voice is always heard. I will do this by making sure that no matter the feedback you give whether you think it is positive or negative I will work to my best ability to make sure it is taken on board and heard.
