1. Why did you get involved with HISA?

I first got involved when I became a class rep last year and after going to HISA Con I felt a burning desire to become a part of the great HISA team and contribute as much as I could to the outstanding work that HISA has been doing in representing students and improving their university experience.

2. If you could achieve one thing in your year as an officer, what would it be?

If I could achieve one thing that would be creating a lasting legacy that would forever enhance the student experience.

3. Who’s your icon?

My icons are far and wide and range from across many cultural fields, but I guess my academic icon is the Historian Peter Frankopan, who is not only one of the world’s top historians and professors, but a brilliant human being who inspires his students to achieve great things.

4. Away from student politics, what do you like to do?

My main hobbies are sport, music, cooking, reading and travelling. I play a range of different sports such as swimming, horse riding, cricket, archery and mountain climbing. I also love playing the piano and going to gigs and festivals.

5. What’s your best memory of being a student at the University of the Highlands and Islands?

My favourite memory from UHI is having granted the opportunity to meet the amazing people that I met.

6. What’s your proudest moment?

Gosh, there aren’t that many! I guess it’s after putting a smile on someone’s face who really needed that smile.

7. What’s your favourite thing about living in the Highlands and Islands?

Being able to walk and cycle in the complete wilderness, as well as climbing mountains and surviving.

8. What are you going to do for me, the average UHI student, to improve my everyday life?

I will ensure that students are equipped with the necessary tools to make their university experience a memorable one from ensuring that the student voice is present and heard at the highest echelons of UHI to creating exciting events that tickle the imagination.
