Becoming a trustee of HISA is an enjoyable and exciting opportunity to make a difference to students' lives. You will play a vital role, volunteering your time to make important decisions about our work. As a trustee you'll have overall control of the charity and influencing how we achieve our key strategic aims.

HISA has been set up as a Company Limited by Guarantee and has a Certificate of Incorporation from Companies House.
HISA is the employer of the regional Principal Officers and the employer of the Depute Presidents at the 12 member academic partners where HISA represents students locally. HISA is also the employer of the small team of staff who work alongside the officers to run HISA on a day to day basis.
HISA is registered as a charity with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) and a Board of Trustees has been formed.
The Board of Trustees is responsible for ensuring that HISA operates in a fair and democratic manner and is responsible for its finances. The Board of Trustees comprises the three regional HISA Executive Officers (President, Vice President Higher Education, Vice President Further Education), three Student Trustees and four External Trustees.
